Join renowned calypsonian David "The King" Rudder, jazz vocalist Akua Allrich and
the Cultural Academy of Excellence (CAFE) for our 21st Anniversary Gala: A Black-Tie Affair, celebrating achievements in Science, Technology, Reading,
Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM).  We invite you to an elegant
evening of DINNER, OPEN WINE BAR, LIVE MUSIC, and DANCING, and featuring an ONLINE/LIVE SILENT
AUCTION. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to support 2017 Caribbean Hurricane Victims: Caribbean Disaster Recovery Relief and Alliance Fund- www.cdrra.org

Caribbean | David "The King" Rudder is one of the world’s leading calypsonians and composers! Hailing from Trinidad & Tobago, Rudder will grace CAFE’s 21st Anniversary Gala with the renowned IMAGE BAND. Rudder's canon classics such as "The Hammer," Rally ‘Round the West Indies," "High Mas," and "Ganges Meets the Nile" comprise a core of social commentary and Steelband’ repertoires worldwide. | Jazz vocalist and DC-native Akua Allrich is a musician of astounding talent. This polished performer has successfully etched out a place for her unique artistic expression, ELECTRIFYING audiences internationally and around the nation’s capital with sold-out performances. She has released three highly acclaimed albums and is often likened to legendary artists Miriam Makeba and Nina Simone.
