In celebration of Art All Night, Margaret Vaughan Siebel creates a papier-mache mobile with multi-colored birds hanging in flight from suspended branches.

WASHINGTON COLLEGE OF LAW, CAPITAL ATRIUM
Step back in time as a jazz quintet performs music from the Roaring 20s interspersed with readings from The Great Gatsby. Contemporary art blends seamlessly with the jazz age just as the law school facility blends modern architecture with historic buildings.

WASHINGTON YOGA CENTER AND WISCONSIN BUILDING
Art, creation, and movement go hand-in-hand. As you enter the lobby, enjoy works by Visionary Artist Emily Brown. Move further in to create your own memory journal with Nancy Arbuthnot. And at your final destination, explore movement at the Washington Yoga Studio with open yoga classes.

Schedule

7:00 p.m. – midnight: Make your own journal using paper, cover stock, watercolors, and other materials. Workshops for up to 4 participants at a time will run continuously. Ages 8 and up; those under 12 accompanied by an adult.

7:00 p.m. : Join Pleasance & Family for a yoga movement adventure! Come dance, play and connect using yoga as our foundation and our guide. This Family Yoga class is best for ages 4+. Feel free to come in pjs or super relaxing comfy clothes!

8:00 p.m. : Dena Kahn offers Flow Yoga, a 30-minute, calming evening practice with breath focused meditation, gentle movement, and restorative postures.

9:00 p.m. : Take part in Sivananda Yoga, a traditional hatha yoga practice. Sivananda combines breathing exercises (pranayama), yoga postures (asanas), and positive thinking. Together, these practices energize the body and calm the mind cultivating stillness and peace within. This practice is appropriate for all levels of experience, even those that are beginners.

TENLEY-FRIENDSHIP LIBRARY
Tenleytown’s past and future is on display at the library. Works by Gail Rebhan and on loan from the Tenleytown Historical Society showcase the evolution of the neighborhood, while some of tomorrow’s brightest artists from local schools showcase their paintings, sculpture, and ceramics. Plus art lovers of all ages can contribute to a neighborhood art project sponsored by the library.

Schedule:
7:00 – 8:00 p.m.   Kids craft with Carlos Carmonamedina. Children will use collage, stencils and paint to create postcards from Tenleytown, based on photos of representative buildings and monuments. The workshop is open to all ages, but young toddlers may need supervision from their caretakers.

7:30 – 8:30 pm    Artistic henna tattoos with Roma from Roma’s Henna Designs

7:30 & 9:30 p.m.  Invitational poetry slam featuring youth and adult poets from the Washington, DC area

8:00 pm   Artist Carlos Carmonamedina discusses his project “Postcards from Washington DC,” the importance of the arts in community identity, and their impact on the local economy.

METRO PLAZA
We got the funk! Crush Funk Brass band performs funky, jazzed up classics and modern songs 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. And at 8:00 p.m. you can catch CityDance POP!’s breakers showing off their street moves.

IONA SENIOR SERVICES
The Gallery at Iona features the work of professional and highly trained painters, print makers, photographers, fiber artists, and sculptors who are over the age of 60. For Art Night, the Gallery offers an exciting program of art, theater, music, and more.

Whole Foods’ outdoor patio transforms into a performance stage for dancers and musicians. Enjoy the music while you sample wines offered by Whole Foods and take in exquisite contemporary jewelry and paintings by artists from Studio 4903.

7:30 p.m.   JTR Jujutsu exhibition of empty-hand self-defense tactics, including small weapons defense exercises, simulated sparring and audience participation.

8:00 p.m.  Live jazz from the award-winning local ensemble Felinology

9:00 p.m.  Guitarist Philippe de Pontet

MIDDLE C MUSIC
In the open lot next to Tenley Bar & Grill, you can find all the details about Art All Night: Made in DC at our Welcome Tent.

The lot will feature an installation by Street Sense entitled “I Have a Home Here,” a rolling, interactive art gallery in the form of an art bus, whose artists are people who are experiencing unstable housing. The exhibit seeks to raise awareness about the un-houses and serve as a platform for contact and interaction among communities.

Also, enjoy live music from guitarist Jim Greenfield from 7:00–10:00 p.m.
